Keeping Your Clothes Beautiful for as Long as Possible!
At Slovak Meadows, we believe that your clothes are not just items to wear, but pieces that add beauty to your life. To help keep them looking fresh, vibrant, and as beautiful as the day you got them, we’ve put together simple care tips that will protect their quality and extend their lifespan. With a little love and care, your favorite pieces will continue to bring you joy season after season.
Linen
- Wash in cold/lukewarm water (30°C – 40°C) with a mild detergent.
- Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals. You definitely don’t want any bleach stains on your clothes!
- We definitely prefer air drying, but you can also use tumble dryer on low heat setting.
- For circle skirts or dresses with circle skirts, we recommend laying the garment flat to dry, at least until it’s about 50% dry to avoid stretching.
- For best results, iron linen items while they are still slightly damp, or alternatively, use the steam setting on your iron.
- For a professional finish, use a damp cloth while ironing. It will help with the ironing process and prevent any unwanted “shiny” marks on the seams.
Cotton
- For best results, iron cotton items while they are still slightly damp, or alternatively, use the steam setting on your iron.
- Wash in cold (30°C or below) water, whether using a washing machine or hand washing.
- Do not bleach. Bleach can weaken the fibers over time and cause unwanted discoloration.
- Air dry. If you prefer to use a dryer, choose a low heat setting to protect the fabric.
Wool
- Gently hand wash with cool water.
- Use a small amount of mild detergent.
- Do not tumble dry; lay flat on a towel to air dry to avoid stretching.
- Iron on a medium/wool setting. Use a pressing cloth to avoid leaving marks on the fabric from overheating the wool. For stubborn wrinkles, use a damp pressing cloth.
- Air out regularly: Wool is naturally odor-resistant, and airing it out can freshen it without frequent washing.
Corset
- Never machine wash your corset. If you need to clean it, spot clean using a mild detergent.
- Air out your corset after each wear. This will help prevent any unwanted odors.
- To keep your corset in its best condition, avoid wearing it directly against your skin. A thin layer of clothing underneath will help protect both the corset and your skin from sweat/oils and it’s more comfortable.
